I began my normal walk. Every night, at 1:00am I walk down Thunderwood Lane. All I do is go to my back yard, and "Escape" reality.
Thunderwood Lane's lights don't work, so I use the moon as a nightlight. The stars blanket the sky most nights, making me often stop and look up, and notice it's beauty.
I always have one destination; ElevenThorn Cliff.
ElvenThorn Cliff is a cliff, (Hints the name), along ElvenThorn Lake. It sits high above, making everything visible.
I often walk down Thunderwood Lane, then walk to ElvenThorn Cliff, that is on the edge of ElvenThorn Lake.
The moon hovers high above, making ripples in the lake look like opening eyes. And the stars blanket along side the moon, bringing me new imagination, and if I'm on ElvenThorn Cliff, I see it all.
At about 2:30am, I make my way home, careful to be quick, in case Dad begins to notice my absence.
I creep silently back up the stairs, and fall asleep soundly, while I wait to venture down Thunderwood Lane tomorrow.

(This was fiction BTW)
This is excellent. I like your descriptive imagery and word choice. Even the title has a way of catching a reader's attention.
ReplyDeleteWow - well written. I lost myself in the picture you painted in my mind. Good job!
